Princess Cruises, a favorite with many upscale travelers, has virtually doubled its fleet in the past five years. In the past two years, it has introduced three new Grand Class ships -- Diamond Princess, Sapphire Princess and Caribbean Princess. Somewhat smaller but featuring many of the same amenities are the ships of the Sun Class, which just barely are able to squeeze through the Panama Canal, enabling them to offer a wider variety of itineraries. A popular feature aboard these ships is Personal Choice dining, which enables you to either select from one of the two traditional dinner “seatings” or dining when you wish and with whom you wish in the ship's dining room The Regal Class ships are older and smaller, and do not have the Personal Choice option, but tend to a have a following of their own (the Tahitian Princess is particularly favored by honeymooners). |
